How do I get rid of the burnt and yeasty smell of the bread machine?
I've used the bread machine at home too many times before cleaning it in between loads. How do I get rid of the burnt and yeasty smell the machine itself has. I clean the machine with a faintly damp towel and of course wait for it to dry completely but it doesn't get rid of the smell at all. Help please. Cheers
Always take the time to clean your machine, and tools. It is a must, and the better you take care of them the better they will serve you. I sharpen my knives every morning, and check all my tools. Make it a habbit to clean after every use.
You can try several things to kill the yeast smell. For one think of things that inhibit the growth of yeast. You can use some highly acidic or alkali items to kill the remaining yeast, salt also inhibits the growth of yeast, so the lemon juice and salt idea is not to far fetched. You might want to try seperating the parts and cleaning all of them very well. If you use bleach, becareful to not use too much, due to it being noxious and be sure to wash it a few more times after applying it.
I think your best bet is to try the lemon juice and salt. Wash with soap and water, rinse and repeat.

Cut a lemon in half add a very small amount of salt and rub on your machine. This will take any smell off of the metal and help with the plastic. It may take more than one application for it to compleatly remove the smell.

Is there a way you can use both dish-soap and a little bleach in the water. Thoroughly rinse.

Maybe try putting some baking soda inside it for a while, it works for refrigerator odors.
