As the population …
As the population grows there is more demand, so to to be able to supply the demand, everything has to be done on an industrial scale nowadays.
Gone are the farms which supplied a village.

Due to mans hunger …
Due to mans hunger for pork, beef and poultry, yes this is a horror. But, it is easy to distance one’s self from this when we are at home or at McDonalds stuffing our faces. And yes, I am guilty. I believe God put animals here to help us and feed us. I don’t believe He intended for things to reach this point. I prefer free range animals for food as opposed to “manufactured” meat.
