    We use canola oil for most of our Indian cooking. Parathas are pan fried whereas Chapatis are cooked without oil and coated with Butter or Ghee before serving.

    We are not familiar with the brands available in Toronto, but we like Laxmi brand of whole wheat flour. Maida packages will usually say “Bleached Enriched All-Purpose Flour”.

    Actually, this is a recipe for Paratha but in my family, we call it chapati :) . Parathas are cooked with oil, whereas chapati is cooked dry and then has ghee smeared on it at the end. If you go to an Indian grocery store, you will find chapati atta. It is a whole wheat flour. You can use this for both paratha and chapati.

  26. thanks for that dude! awesome idea, interesting read. ive been trying to convince my mates that we should have a lads curry night-in instead of going out every week, and actually did it last week. awesome success, i tell you! i found a tasty chicken and a few others from this wicked curry recipes site, and even makde the naan myself too. who said guys cant cook!
