What ingredients can I add during the knead cycle in a bread machine?

Hi bakers,

I have recently purchased a Black and Decker bread machine. I find if I add all the ingredients in the beginning the machine squishes everything so fine that you cannot see things like sun dried tomatoes or olives.

I know during the knead cycle it "beeps" and allows for the adding of such things like dried fruits and nuts.

If I add things with a bit of moisture, like olives or chopped parsley along with dried fruit or nuts, will the bread still come out fine?

Thanks!

dried fruit and nuts, and yes it should come out fine

I’d pat them all dry first and give it a shot. I know I’ve put sliced black olives and cheese in dough before in my breadmaker. You might have to use a little extra flour when you knead it (assuming you use the dough cycle), it’ll turn out fine.

  4. I don’t usually post on blogs but had to on yours. You have a very easy to read writing style. I really enjoy posts about this topic, they give me a lot to reflect on. I don’t have time to read everything right now, I found this site when looking for something else on Yahoo, but I’ve bookmarked your homepage and will check back soon to see the latest thoughts.
