Someone loaned me a breadmaker and I’ve experimented with a few types of breads (and even a cake), but they were all things I can make in my oven with a little more effort. Now it is almost time to give it back, and I was wondering if there was anything that would be difficult for me to make on my own but that a breadmaker could do easily. Or even just something fun and/or impressive it can do, for my last use.
Moomie’s Beautiful Burger Buns
1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 egg
3 1/4 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 packet yeast (2-1/2 tsp)
1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
½ teaspoon dried onion (optional)
Mix and knead the dough by hand, mixer or in a bread machine set on the dough cycle ‘til you’ve made a soft, smooth dough. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it and let it rise for 1 hour. Gently deflate the dough and divide into 8 pieces. Shape into buns, place on a lightly greased pan and allow to rise 30 to 40 minutes, ‘til puffy.
Bake at 375 Fahrenheit for approx 12 to 15 minutes or until golden.
Yield: 8 big, beautiful buns

Or this next one.
Note: I substitute 1 teaspoon dill weed for the dill seed; personal preference. This bread is very good with tuna salad,

well this definitely goes under the impressive category. i call it Clone of a Cinnabon . You have got to try these. The first time I made them, I thought of how much money I could save by making my own!
*Clone of a Cinnabon*
(serving 12)
INGREDIENTS
1 cup warm milk (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2 eggs, room temperature
1/3 cup margarine, melted
4 1/2 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS
Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle; press Start.
After the dough has doubled in size turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, cover and let rest for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
Roll dough into a 16×21 inch rectangle. Spread dough with 1/3 cup butter and sprinkle evenly with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls. Place rolls in a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Spread frosting on warm rolls before serving.
hope i could help

Well mostly it is the convenience that a breadmaker can give you. Just throw in the ingredients, set it up overnight and first thing in the morning the bread is done.
However some breadmakers (like mine for instance) can also make jam. There’s only my husband and me at home now so I don’t want to make pots and pots of jam and my breadmaker can make a single pot of jam in an hour – I don’t have to stand and stir it and there’s very little mess.
